"What would please me most in a hotel is not someone else's idea of chic, but rather comfort, clarity and ease of access to information, entertainment and ambience.”

With these words, Ron Arad, the famous Israeli architect, talks about duoMo. It is also his first hotel project. Opened in 2006 in the historic centre of Rimini, design is evident wherever you look inside it. Materials and unusual shapes blend together with a futuristic, minimalist but also laid-back flavour, including huge steel balls, porthole windows, teak flooring slabs, and ceilings and surfaces of cast bronze. To complete the work, there are armchairs made by Moroso, Kartell and Vitra and designed by Ron Arad himself, with accessories from B&B Italia and Molteni. The protagonist of the 34 minimalist rooms and 9 suites is the “wet bathroom” with pieces by Alessi and Viabizzuno. The rooms and suites feature porthole windows, fibre optic lighting systems, and in some cases an outdoor Jacuzzi, avant-garde technology and facilities designed from the very start of the project. NoMi completes this successful work, with its jagged island silhouette and its metropolitan, warm and trendy “club” atmosphere. It was made by Marzorati Ronchetti predominantly using stainless steel and bronze and welcomes the heart of Rimini nightlife and more in the evening.
